Teenage Bottlerocket ~ Tightwire ~ Crossed Keys

AGE RESTRICTION: All Ages Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 7:30 PMTeenage BottlerocketThey’ve toured the world countless times. They kept the leather jacket – and – Converse look alive through an increasingly neon landscape. They’ve written songs about KISS, Top Gun and Minecraft. Hell, they’ve even been on CNN a few times! Please welcome back to the spotlight Wyoming’s own Teenage Bottlerocket, whose ninth album, the 12 – track Sick Sesh! — traffic – cone – orange cover art and all — will be released 08/27/2021 on Fat Wreck Chords. “This record is 12 songs because 14 was too long,” cracks vocalist/g uitarist Ray Carlisle. “We wanna keep the energy up.” Recorded in November 2020 at the Blasting Room (the band’s eighth straight full – length with producer Andrew Berlin), Sick Sesh! is a little bit rougher around the edges than the last few TBR albums, fr om the haunting “Statistic” to the panic – inducing “Strung Out On Stress” to the buzzsaw lead of “Semi Truck.” According to Carlisle, that was on purpose. “We spent a lot of time on guitar tones this time around — that was important for us,” he says. ““We made sure to bring the noisy, loud, irritate your fuckin’ mom guitar back. There’s a ton of intentional guitar noise and feedback. We dug up the amps we used for Freak Out! and They Came From The Shadows . This is punk rock, after all. Stay Rad! Is a great record, but it’s very radio friendly. I wanted to do the opposite of that: Let’s get fuckin’ noisy.” While the bulk of Sick Sesh! was written in January 2020 (with “Statistic” actually co – written between Carlisle and his son Milo), the COVID pandemic allow ed for the band to take a little extra time for fine tuning, and the resulting tracks are some of the most stylistically diverse on the record. First up, there’s the Templeman – penned “Strung Out On Stress,” the fastest, angriest track on Sick Sesh! , all ab out losing your mind during the pandemic. On the flipside, there’s the mid – tempo, melodic track “The Squirrel,” written by bassist Miguel Chen and sung by Templeman, that’s literally about a cute little rodent. https://teenagebottlerocket.bandcamp.com/album/so-dumb-so-stokedTightwirehttps://tightwirempls.bandcamp.com/album/head-full-of-snakesCrossed KeysChances are, if you’ve been paying attention to the Philadelphia underground music scene in the past two decades, you’ve seen one or two members of Crossed Keys before, although it’s very likely that you’ve seen them all. The members of Crossed Keys have a long history of playing in hardcore and punk bands from the area including Kid Dynamite, Ink & Dagger, Step Ahead, Kill The Man Who Questions, Zolof the Rock and Roll Destroyer, Halo of Snakes, and The Curse. Crossed Keys draw from an eclectic palette of influences to create a unique twist on a sound that has been cultured in years of basement shows and record shops. Crossed Keys has gotten a lot older, a little wiser, and lost varying amounts of hair, but still makes music perfect for sweaty singalongs and all around good time.Crossedkeys.Bandcamp.com

**All shows 21+—valid ID required** Doors: 9:00 PM Show: 9:00 PM DJ AssaultDetroit’s own Booty Bass pioneer DJ Assault has had a large hand in bringing ghetto-tech, aka booty music, from the urban streets of Detroit to the suburban club circuit. The incorporation of electro beats with hardcore, sometimes pornographic lyrics, is what makes ghetto-house highly distinguishable from its other techno cousins. https://www.instagram.com/djassault1/Phreakwency Born in St. Louis, and raised in South Florida, Phreakwency seeks to offer East Coast clubs an authentic blend of midwest and southern sonics. Determined to strike a chord in the city, he made his debut across FM airwaves on WKDU Philadelphia 91.7 FM as the host of Dog Daze Radio, highlighting Black music and DJs from across the city leading to a residency at North Philadelphia record store, label, and streaming facility, Great Circles, hosting the show, Constructive Interference. Under the banner of the Bass Down Low party, he’s one of three DJs bringing Black electronic music to the forefront of the Philadelphia scene. One thing remains at the core of Phreakwency’s sound: bass, bass, and more bass. Blending the sounds of percussive trax from Chicago, hazy lo-fi crunk samples from Memphis, and the 808 bass culture of Miami, he crafts a sonic experience rooted in the spirit of Sankofa; taking elements from the past that are good and bringing them into the present to make progress in the future. Playing everything from ghetto house to jungle, Phreakwency provides a dancefloor experience you won’t find anywhere else in Philadelphia.https://www.instagram.com/phreakwency/JEWELSSEAJEWELSSEA is a rising star in electronic music, known for her genre-blending and boundary-pushing performances. Hailing from South Philadelphia, the 23-year-old has already made a significant impact on the local scene, co-organizing the groundbreaking ALT + ESC rave series to revive Philly’s underground rave culture. JEWELSSEA’s talent as a DJ and producer has earned her coveted spots at major festivals such as Adult Swim and Making Time, where she’s provided direct support for Overmono, Jamie XX, Tierra Whack, Zack Fox, TisaKorean, F1LTHY, and DJ SWISHA. With a diverse musical palette that spans across genres, JEWELSSEA’s electrifying performances and prolific writing and producing have earned her a dedicated following of fans who eagerly anticipate her next move.
